3.7-magnitude earthquake strikes Palghar
PALGHAR, Oct. 9 -- A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Palghar at 7.16pm on Thursday, with tremors felt across parts of Talasari taluka, officials said. The quake was centred near Kurze Dam at a depth of 5km. No damage to the reservoir or other property was reported.
The latest tremor comes amid a series of minor earthquakes recorded in Dahanu, Talasari and Jawhar talukas over the past two months. A 3.6-magnitude earthquake was recorded near Dapcheri in Talasari on September 26, while a 3.2-magnitude tremor struck near Jawhar on August 10. A 3.5-magnitude quake was recorded near Vikramgad on July 31....
