Mumbai, July 21 -- Three armed robbers looted a jewellery store in Dahanu on Monday evening, firing two rounds before fleeing the scene, police said. The robbery took place around 4:30 pm at Lakshmi Jewellers on Irani Road. Police said the three masked men arrived on a motorcycle, entered the store, threatened the staff at gunpoint and fled with gold and silver jewellery and cash. The accused allegedly fired two shots while escaping. "There were no reports of casualties resulting from the gunfire," said a police officer from Dahanu police station. After receiving information from nearby shopkeepers, the Dahanu police rushed to the spot and launched a search for the trio. Despite the efforts from officers to chase the suspects, they still managed to escape but a search is on. Police have set up checkpoints at exit points and have launched a manhunt....
