3 injured as gas leak triggers fire
Mumbai, July 13 -- Three people sustained injuries after a fire broke out at a residence in Aman Nagar in Khindipada, Mulund, on Sunday evening, civic officials said. The fire is suspected to have been triggered by a gas leak during maintenance work.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the incident was reported to the ward control room at 4.07pm. The fire, believed to have started while a technician was carrying out maintenance work, was extinguished by 5.36pm.
Hospital officials identified the injured as Pramila Vishwakarma, 50, who suffered around 40% burns; Aradhana Vishwakarma, 24, who sustained nearly 20% burns; and Mohammad, 52, who sustained about 30% burns. The injured persons were shifted to Agrawal Hospital in Mulund for treatment.
Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the gas leak....
