3,400 SIR forms found at Kharghar shop; five BLOs suspended
PANVEL, Aug. 29 -- Around 3,400 voter-verification forms were discovered at a photocopy centre in Kharghar by Shiv Sena (UBT) Raigad chief Prasad Bhoir on Thursday. This led to a face-off between the BJP and Sena (UBT), the suspension of five Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and one person booked for allegedly photocopying the documents without authorisation.
The forms, part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the Panvel assembly constituency, were found at a photocopy centre by election officials following Bhoir's complaint. When electoral officers reached the centre, they found Suraj Patil, a Murbhi village resident, photocopying the forms, Raigad collector Kishan Jawale said on Friday.
Sena (UBT) claimed Patil was a BJP Yuva Morcha functionary. But Panvel mayor Nitin Patil said: "BJP has no connection with this matter."P3...
