THANE, July 27 -- A 20-year-old man died after being swept away in flash floods while returning from an outing with friends from Maruti waterfall in Shahapur's Dolkhamb area on Sunday afternoon amid heavy rainfall. Efforts are on by rescuers to trace one of his friends who is reported missing. The five friends, all residents of Kalyan, aged between 20 and 26, had gone to the waterfall for an outing when they were swept away by the sudden surge in water while having lunch around 3:30pm. The deceased was identified as Aakash Mahendra Deshmukh, 20, while Dinesh Mendalkar remained missing till late Sunday. The three survivors were identified as Prashant Ingle, Nitesh Patil and Ajay Mirkute. Local villagers who spotted the group struggling in the water rushed to their aid and rescued three of them before alerting the police. The Kinhavli police, along with a team of the NDRF, launched a search operation for the two men who had been swept downstream into a river....
