NEW DELHI, March 6 -- Former navy chief Admiral Arun Prakash (retd) on Thursday said India must articulate its concern to the US about its ongoing war with Iran being brought to the country's doorstep, a day after an American submarine torpedoed and sank an Iranian frigate in the waters near Sri Lanka. "It has nothing to do with us. We are not involved in this conflict except that the incident has taken place very close to our waters and in our part of the world. It has brought the conflict much closer to us. We should make our concern known that war has been brought to our doorstep now," he said. The frigate, IRIS Dena, was hit just days after it participated in a multi-nation exercise and international fleet review hosted by New Delhi, widening the conflict in West Asia and bringing it into India's strategic backyard. "Also, where the ship was sunk is a focal point for international shipping. A kinetic incident of this nature is likely to disturb world shipping," he added.
