JHANSI, Sept. 7 -- Young people should look beyond jobs and personal ambitions and actively contribute to strengthening society and fulfilling their civic responsibilities, senior RSS functionary and Pragya Pravah national convenor J Nand Kumar said at a youth interaction in Jhansi on Sunday. Addressing 'Yuva Vyavsayik Samvad', organised by the Yuva Sammelan Samiti, Jhansi Mahanagar, as part of RSS centenary celebrations, Kumar said nation-building was closely linked to social responsibility, environmental protection, social harmony and strong family values. Urging young people to contribute to society in whatever way they could, he said, "We cannot do everything, but we can do something." Kumar said equating English proficiency with intellectualism reflected a colonial mindset, asserting that true intellectualism lay in proficiency in Sanskrit. He also said Indians themselves had contributed to social fragmentation, rather than blaming British or Mughals. On RSS-BJP relationship, Kumar said organisations were founded 55 years apart-RSS in 1925 and BJP in 1980. He said the RSS viewed India as Hindu Rashtra and therefore saw no need for a separate declaration. htc...
