Youth's body found in mustard field;knife stuck in chest
GORAKHPUR, Feb. 8 -- The blood-stained body of a youth was found in a mustard field in Pavenpur village under the GIDA police station area on Saturday morning, triggering panic in the locality. The deceased was identified as Abhishek Singh, a resident of Nousadh.
A knife was found stuck in his chest and multiple deep injury marks on his body indicated a brutal murder, said police officials.
According to the police, local villagers spotted the body when they went to their fields early in the morning. Following the information, GIDA police, along with senior officials, rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. Police recovered empty liquor bottles and water pouches around 20 metres away from the body. Investigators suspect that the victim may have been consuming alcohol with acquaintances and that a dispute under the influence of liquor could have led to the killing.
Police officials further stated that the victim's mobile phone was missing, and the possibility of evidence being destroyed by the attackers cannot be ruled out.
A forensic team inspected the site and collected crucial vidence. .SP (North) Gyanendra Kumar said, "Prima facie, it appears to be a case of murder. Evidence has been collected from the spot, and two teams have been formed. The victim has been identified as Abhishek Singh, a resident of Nousadh. The accused will be arrested soon."htc...
