VARANASI, Oct. 11 -- The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, through Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), organised the Youth for Viksit Bharat: MY Bharat Youth Convention at Swatantrata Bhavan, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), in Varanasi on Saturday. The event brought together youth achievers, sportspersons, digital content creators and young leaders to celebrate their accomplishments and encourage greater youth participation in nation-building. The programme was attended by Union youth affairs and sports minister Mansukh Mandaviya, Uttar Pradesh minister of state (independent charge) for youth welfare and sports Girish Chandra Yadav, and Sunil Paliwal, secretary, department of youth affairs, Government of India. Indian cricketer Dhruv Jurel and Hanuman Ansh director Vishal Chaturvedi also interacted with the participants. Addressing the gathering, Mandaviya urged young people to become active partners in India's development rather than mere beneficiaries. Referring to the Prime Minister's Viksit Bharat@2047 vision, he said today's youth would lead the country in 2047 and called on them to contribute to their communities and the nation. The Convention felicitated Asian Games medallists Rohit Yadav, Prachi Choudhary, Parul Choudhary, Jay Kumar and Raj Kumar Pal for their sporting achievements. JEE qualifiers Arpit Giri, Aditya Upadhyay and Avantika, who secured admission to IIT (BHU), were also honoured. Content creators Prajwal Prajapati, Abhishek Chaurasiya, Amit Kumar Gautam, Harsh Gupta, Shivam Pandey, Suryanshu Shukla, Saurabh Chandra, Bhim Yadav, Shivaditya, Dishu Khanna and Aditya Maurya were recognised for their contributions to youth engagement, creative expression and positive social impact. Cricketer Dhruv Jurel shared his experiences, highlighting discipline, commitment and perseverance in sports, while Hanuman Ansh director Vishal Chaturvedi spoke about creative expression and cultural storytelling....
