PRAYAGRAJ, May 21 -- A female student residing in rented accommodation in Shankarganj, Teliyarganj area of Prayagraj filed a police complaint against her landlord's son, accusing him of molestation, physical assault and issuing death threats. The complainant stated that she has been living in the house owned by Sudhir Dwivedi while preparing for competitive examinations. In her written complaint to Shivkuti police, she alleged that the landlord's son, Shubham Dwivedi, had been harassing her for several days through repeated phone calls and messages, and was attempting to forcefully enter her room. According to the complaint, on the night of May 18, the accused, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, began persistently calling and messaging her. When she did not respond, he reportedly attempted to break open her door around 2 am. Failing to gain entry, he allegedly latched the door from the outside. Frightened, the student called for help from a woman staying in the adjoining room. It is alleged that the accused had similarly locked the friend and her sister inside their room from the outside. When the women raised an alarm, the accused and his mother opened the doors, after which a heated argument escalated into violence. The complaint further alleges that Shubham Dwivedi attacked both the women with a sharp-edged weapon and physically assaulted them.
