LUCKNOW, May 7 -- A youth accused of luring a minor girl to run away with him was arrested and the victim rescued, police said on Wednesday. According to officials, a case was registered on April 24, 2026, based on a complaint by the girl's father, who alleged that the accused, Durgesh, 19, had lured his daughter into leaving home. An FIR was lodged under sections 137(2) (kidnapping or abducting a minor) and 87 (inducement or coercion) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Gomti Nagar Extension police station. Police said a manhunt was launched and the accused was traced to Gomti Nagar Extension with the help of local intelligence and surveillance on Wednesday.
