Yogi sets target of hoisting Tricolour at 5 crore homes
LUCKNOW, Aug. 1 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday called for enthusiastic public participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, setting a target of hoisting the national flag at 5 crore households across Uttar Pradesh this year.
Reviewing preparations for the campaign, Independence Day celebrations and Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, the chief minister said Har Ghar Tiranga should become a mass movement promoting patriotism and respect for the national flag. He directed all government departments, local bodies, educational institutions, gram panchayats, fair price shops, industries and social organisations to hoist the Tricolour.
Yogi also ordered mandatory screening of the National Song and the National Anthem in all cinema halls across the state on August 14 and 15.
The state will organise Tiranga rallies, musical concerts, exhibitions, rangoli competitions and other patriotic programmes, while major public buildings and transport hubs will be decorated in the Tricolour theme. From August 9 to 15, special events will also be held at memorials associated with the freedom struggle, alongside a statewide cleanliness drive.
