VARANASI, July 8 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday directed officials that there should be separate route arrangements for Varanasi residents to visit Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple during the month of Sawan. Yogi arrived in Varanasi on Tuesday for a two-day visit. At the local Circuit House, he reviewed the progress of development works and the law-and-order situation with public representatives and officials and issued necessary directives. During the meeting, the CM also reviewed the preparations made by the administration and the police department for the month of Shravan beginning July 30. Divisional commissioner S Rajalingam presented a detailed overview of the preparations being made at Baba Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham and various Shiva Temples temples across the Varanasi region. During the review, the chief minister directed that a separate route be arranged for local residents to visit the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Former minister and MLA Dr Neelkanth Tiwari expressed gratitude to the chief minister on behalf of the residents of Kashi for fulfilling this long-awaited demand. The CM emphasised that local traders should face no inconvenience due to the barricading planned between Maidagin and Godowlia during Sawan, and also called for ensuring adequate ambulance arrangements along this route. He directed that the administration, police, municipal corporation, public works department, and electricity department work in close coordination during the month of Sawan.
