The attack took place around 11.30pm near the RDSO Officers' Club as Shalini Mishra was returning to her rented accommodation in Mehdi Khera from Alambagh. According to the FIR, the main accused, Vikas Yadav, 28, of the same locality, intercepted her, hurled abuses and allegedly assaulted her before stabbing her in the waist.
