AGRA, Oct. 19 -- A woman in Kasganj allegedly sold her 45-day-old baby to a childless couple from Hathras for Rs.1.30 lakh, with a doctor couple in Kasganj acting as brokers. Dr Arun and his wife told police that they had taken Rs.2 lakh from the childless couple from Hathras, paid Rs.1.30 lakh to the baby's mother and retained the remaining Rs.70,000. Of the amount retained, they had already spent Rs.10,000, police said.
