Woman's body found dumped by roadside, murder suspected
PRAYAGRAJ, May 16 -- Panic gripped residents of Garhi village in the Pashchimsharira area of Kaushambi after the body of an unidentified woman was discovered lying on a roadside on Friday morning. Police suspect that the woman, believed to be around 38 years old, was murdered elsewhere and her body later dumped at the spot.
According to officials, villagers first noticed the body while heading towards a nearby private school. On receiving information, SHO Rajesh Singh reached the spot with a police team and a forensic unit and collected evidence.
Superintendent of police (SP) Satyanarayan Prajapat also inspected the site, accompanied by DSP (Crime) Shivank Singh. Police officials questioned local residents to identify the deceased, but her identity remains unknown so far.

The woman was dressed in a red saree and matching blouse, and mehndi was visible on her hands, leading police to believe she may have recently attended a wedding or family function.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further action will be taken based on the findings, he added.
