LUCKNOW, May 11 -- A 65-year-old woman was found murdered with her throat slit inside her house in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur district late on Saturday night, police said. To solve the case, five police teams have been constituted, including personnel from the SOG, surveillance unit and local police station. The incident took place in Langri village under Bandhua Kalan police station limits, triggering panic in the area after the blood-soaked body of the elderly woman was discovered inside her home. The deceased was identified as Vimlesh Singh, wife of Chandrashekhar Singh. According to police and family members, she was living alone in the village, while her two sons were working in Punjab with their families. Her husband had also gone to Punjab for medical treatment. Villagers told the police that Vimlesh had returned home on Saturday evening after delivering milk in the village. Concern arose late at night when family members repeatedly tried to contact her over phone around 9 pm but received no response. Suspecting something was wrong, they alerted neighbours and relatives in the village. When neighbours reached the house, they found Vimlesh lying in a pool of blood inside the residence. Police said the woman had deep injury marks caused by a sharp-edged weapon, particularly on the neck.
