Barmer/Pali, April 3 -- A 65-year-old woman was found dead, with her legs severed allegedly to steal jewellery in Rajasthan's Pali district, officials said on Thursday.
The body was found in a dry pond in Karadi village under Marwar Junction police station limits on Wednesday around 8.30 pm, police said.
SHO Rajendra Kumar said the victim, Pyari Devi, wife of late Ramlal, had deep neck wounds inflicted by a sharp weapon. "Both legs were severed, and jewellery from her ears, neck and feet was missing," he said.
Police suspect the assailants slit her throat and then tried to remove her silver anklets. When unsuccessful, they allegedly cut off both legs and fled with the ornaments. Further probe is on....
