Woman held for impersonation in B.Ed entrance exam in Varanasi
VARANASI, June 2 -- A woman was arrested on Monday for allegedly impersonating another candidate in the BEd entrance examination-2026 at Kalikadham PG College in Sevapuri, Varanasi. The incident came to light during the examination held on May 31, under the jurisdiction of Kapsethi Police Station, police said.
According to Gomti Zone Police of Varanasi in an official communique, the accused was identified as Tanisha Kumari, a resident of Mahrawan under Roh Police Station in Nawada district of Bihar. She allegedly attempted to appear in the examination on behalf of another candidate by using a forged admit card, Aadhaar card and digitally altered photographs. Police said she was impersonating Shreya Bharti, daughter of Anil Kumar Bharti and a resident of Babupurwa Colony in Kidwainagar, Kanpur.
Acting on his complaint, police registered a case.
The accused was produced before a court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody, police said.
Police said the investigation into the involvement of other accused persons in the case is underway. htc...
