PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 24 -- A 26-year-old woman died late Saturday night at a medical college's women's hospital in Pratapgarh, hours after delivering a baby girl, prompting protests by her family, who alleged negligence in treatment. Police sent the body for post-mortem examination and initiated an inquiry. Manisha Verma, a resident of Bhanwarpur village in Sangrampur, Amethi, was admitted after developing labour pains and delivered a baby girl through a surgical procedure around 6:30 pm. Family members alleged that her condition deteriorated around 9 pm after she and the newborn were shifted to separate wards.
