PRAYAGRAJ, April 27 -- A woman passenger gave birth to twins on the platform with the assistance of railway staff and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Subedarganj Railway Station on Sunday. The woman, identified as Jyoti Kumari, a resident of Bhadohi, was travelling with her family from New Delhi to Patna on the New Delhi-Patna Special Train (No. 03294). The train arrived at Platform No 6 of Subedarganj station in Prayagraj at approximately 10:40 am on Sunday. Shortly after the train reached the station, co-passengers alerted the Railway Protection Force about the woman experiencing severe labour pain. Responding swiftly, an RPF women's team, including lady constables Suman Yadav and Priyanka, along with female sanitation workers present at the station, arranged for an emergency delivery right on the platform. With their assistance, the woman safely delivered twins a baby boy and a baby girl. Soon after the delivery, a medical team led by nurse Shabina from the Central Railway Hospital in Prayagraj reached the spot and provided initial medical care to the mother and the newborns. All three were reported to be in stable condition.
