PRAYAGRAJ, March 30 -- In a dramatic incident on Sunday afternoon, a young woman from a village in the Baghrai area of Pratapgarh climbed a mobile tower in Kunda town on Managarh Road, allegedly threatening to take her life after her family assaulted her boyfriend. According to reports, the woman was in a relationship with a local youth. When her family came to know about it, they allegedly attacked him, leaving him injured. The youth later filed a complaint against her family. Upset over the incident, the woman reached Kunda around 4 pm and climbed tower. A crowd soon gathered at the spot, causing traffic disruption, while local police and SDM rushed to scene. The woman reportedly demanded that her family be called, the complaint involving her boyfriend be withdrawn, and that she be allowed to marry him. People from nearby houses attempted to persuade her to come down. After nearly two hours, her parents and boyfriend arrived at the spot. Following assurances from the administration that her concerns would be addressed, she climbed down around 6:15 pm.
