Woman cleans blood-stained KGMU bed, video goes viral
LUCKNOW, March 17 -- A video from King George's Medical University (KGMU) has gone viral on social media, showing an elderly woman wiping blood from a hospital bed with cotton where her husband was admitted, triggering outrage and raising questions over ward management at the premier government hospital.
In the viral clip, the woman can be seen cleaning the blood-stained bed herself inside the ward. The video also captures her son shouting at doctors and hospital staff present there, alleging negligence and lack of basic assistance. According to sources, the incident reportedly took place inside the Gandhi Ward where the elderly patient was undergoing treatment. Family members claimed that despite repeated requests, no hospital staff came forward to clean the blood on the bed, forcing the elderly woman to do it herself. The video quickly spread across social media platforms, drawing sharp reactions from users who questioned hygiene standards and patient care at the state-run medical institution. KGMU spokesperson, Prof KK Singh said the administration is aware of the incident which had happened two days ago on the second floor of Gandhi Ward. No complaint has been received from the patient's family.
Doctors and other staff members of the ward have been instructed to take proper care of the patient. htc...
