Agra, July 29 -- A woman was booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder for 'accidentally strangulating' her three-year-old son in June. A case was registered on Monday night at Baldev police station of Mathura district on a complaint lodged by the husband of the accused. According to Sanjeev Kumar Rai, deputy SP, Mahawan circle in Mathura, a call was received at Baldev police station on Monday evening from Govind Gupta, a resident of village Chauli, who informed that the 3-year-old son of his brother was strangulated by mother of child on June 28. "Police from Baldev police station reached the village and came to know that Ruchi Gupta, the mother of the deceased child was very irritated by her son playing despite being asked to sit quietly when she talked on mobile phone. The agitated mother beat up the boy to stop him and in process 'accidently strangulated' the 3 year old child to death," said DSP. "The woman concealed her act and called up her husband stating that their son was sleeping continuously and not getting up despite efforts made. The concerned father turned up and rushed the son to hospitals, one after another, but doctors declared the child 'dead' who was later cremated," informed DSP. "The family members alleged before the police team that the mother has now 'confessed' that she had 'accidently strangulated' the child playing and not sitting quietly," said the DSP. "A case has been registered at Baldev police station under section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of BNS and matter is being investigated," he stated. In his written complaint, the husband of the woman has alleged that his wife used to talk at length through her mobile with her friend Rohit. "While my wife, Ruchi, talked to Rohit, on June 28, Madhav was in a playful mood. Ruchi again scolded Madhav and in anger, strangulated him to death," stated Krishna Murari, who claimed that his wife has 'confessed' her crime now....
