Bidar, Aug. 27 -- The bodies of a 35-year-old woman and her five children were found in Bhutnal Lake in Karnataka's Vijayapura, with police suspecting that they may have died by suicide, though the exact circumstances are yet to be established, a senior officer said on Wednesday. "Most probably, it appears that they came to Bhutnal Lake and may have died by suicide or something similar. However, we will know the exact circumstances only after the forensic, FSL and post-mortem reports are received," superintendent of police Laxman Nimbargi told reporters. Deputy superintendent of police Nagaraj said the woman's husband, 40, from Toravi's Shanti Nagar, told the police that he had a minor argument with his wife on the night of August 23 over a family matter. The man alleged that he had slept outside the house that night, while his wife and the children slept inside. On Monday, around 5am, he found that his wife and four children were missing from the house, the officer said. The bodies of the woman and the five children were recovered on Wednesday morning. "The police have launched a massive search to identify the bodies and are examining missing persons complaints registered in the surrounding police stations. The real truth behind this series of deaths will come out only after the post-mortem and police investigation.
