Haridwar, Oct. 28 -- The National Board for Wildlife has granted permission to initiate construction and repairs at the Mata Mansa Devi shrine, taking cognisance of the damage caused during the stampede that occurred on July 27, district officials said on Monday. According to Haridwar district magistrate Mayur Dixit, the repair work duly began on Sunday after permission was received. Mata Mansa Devi temple trust president Mahant Ravindra Puri also expressed his pleasure at the initiation of the repair, emphasising the importance of safety at the shrine, which records the footfall of thousands of pilgrims every year.
