Bahraich, July 16 -- A 65-year-old cyclist was critically injured after a wild elephant attacked him on the Bichhiya-Amba road in the Katarniaghat Wildlife Division on Wednesday morning. Waris Ali of Amba village was on his way to Bichhiya market when the elephant emerged from the forest, lifted him with its trunk, threw him to the ground and trampled his bicycle. He was taken to the Primary Health Centre in Sujauli with serious internal injuries. Range forest officer Ashish Gaur said patrols had been intensified and villagers warned as elephant movement increased along the Bichhiya-Amba and Bichhiya-Mihinpurwa roads.htc...
