Rudrapur, April 19 -- The Terai East forest division has installed three solar-powered borewells to keep waterholes filled in forest areas, aimed at providing a steady water source for wild animals during the summer, officials said. "These waterholes were earlier filled using tankers. In the first phase, we have installed three solar panel-based borewells in major waterholes. With this, the waterholes will remain filled round the clock," said Himanshu Bagri, divisional forest officer (DFO), Terai East forest division in Kumaon.
