Warrior Club, New Boys Club notch up contrasting wins
LUCKNOW, July 13 -- Aliganj Warrior Club opened their campaign in the District Football League 2026 at Chowk Stadium with a narrow 2-1 victory over TFA (A) in an entertaining first match here on Sunday.
Saeed was the star for Aliganj Warrior, netting a quick double with clinical finishes in the 20th and 23rd minutes to put his side firmly in control. Aliganj rode that early momentum, combining solid defensive work with quick transitions to deny TFA (A) time on the ball in the final third.
TFA (A) fought back after the break and were rewarded for their persistence when Vinayak reduced the deficit in the 60th minute with a well-taken goal that injected fresh hope into their chase. Despite sustained pressure, TFA (A) were unable to find an equaliser as Aliganj's defence held firm and the visitors managed the clock effectively to secure all three points.
The second fixture produced a more one-sided affair as New Boys Club ran out 4-0 winners against Chowk Sporting Club. Brajesh opened the scoring early in the 14th minute, setting the tone for a dominant performance.
Kushal doubled the lead in the 23rd minute, and Sumit extended the advantage shortly before halftime with a 38th-minute strike. Vaibhav put the result beyond doubt with a composed finish in the 50th minute, completing a comprehensive victory for New Boys Club that showcased their attacking cohesion and clinical finishing.
On Monday, Chowk Stadium hosts two ties. The first match kicks off at 3:00 PM, featuring Uttar Pradesh Police against SR Club - a fixture likely to be decided in midfield battles and set-piece moments. The evening slot at 4:30 PM will see Spring Dale Club face Midwinter Club, where both teams will be eager to climb the early standings.
