Wanted drug trafficker caught in Lko police encounter
LUCKNOW, Dec. 9 -- A wanted drug trafficker carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 was injured during a late-night police encounter in the Mohanlalganj area here on Sunday.
The accused, identified as Pankaj Tripathi of Kaushambi, sustained a gunshot wound in his right leg during retaliatory firing and was later admitted to a hospital under police supervision, police said on Monday.
Officials said the encounter occurred near the Kankaha outpost when Tripathi, travelling on a motorcycle with his associate Narendra from Kaushambi, allegedly ignored police signals to stop and tried to flee.
The duo allegedly opened fire on the police team, triggering a retaliatory response.
Both were caught soon after Tripathi collapsed due to the injury.htc...
