Vns police to issue red corner notice in codeine smuggling case
VARANASI, Feb. 14 -- The Varanasi police initiated the process to issue a Red Corner Notice (RCN) against Shubham Jaiswal, the alleged kingpin in the codeine-based cough syrup smuggling case.
Deputy commissioner of police (Varuna Zone), Pramod Kumar, said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been contacted as per the prescribed procedure for issuing the international alert.
Meanwhile, the police have filed a charge sheet in the case against the accused including Bhola Prasad, a resident of Kayastha Tola in Adampur, Azad Jaiswal, a resident of Ramakant Nagar Colony in Sigra, Mahesh Kumar Singh, a resident of Kashipur in Rohaniya, Shivakant alias Shiva, a native of Bilhaur (Bedipur) in Kanpur Nagar, currently residing in Kanavasi, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, Swapnil Kesari, a resident of Krishnanagar in Chandasi, Chandauli, Dinesh Yadav, a resident of Saptasagar Mandi, and Ashish Yadav, a resident of Ishwargangi.
