VARANASI, July 8 -- Divisional commissioner S Rajalingam on Tuesday directed all the departments to ensure effective coordination and implementation of essential facilities for devotees at Baba Kashi Vishwanath Dham in the month of Shravan beginning July 30. These measures include the availability of drinking water, medical management, crowd control, public address (PA) systems, smooth arrangements for darshan, cleanliness across the entire area, and security arrangements. Rajalingam along with police commissioner Mohit Agarwal chaired the meeting regarding preparations for the month of Shravan. This year, the month of Shravan will span from July 30 to August 28. The divisional commissioner issued instructions to ensure the proper functioning of all electrical equipment and CCTV systems within the KV Dham (temple complex) for security purposes. Instructions were also given to secure and elevate any loose or hanging electrical wires in the lanes outside the KV Dham. For the residents of Kashi, in addition to Shravan Mondays and festival days, the facility for Jhanki Darshan (viewing the deity's ceremonial display) will be available daily from 4am to 5am and 4pm to 5pm. For pilgrims unable to visit the KV Dham in person, a live darshan facility will be available. Meanwhile, the KV temple administration has clarified that 'Special Darshan' (Protocol Darshan) is completely prohibited throughout the month of Shravan.
