Vivekananda's ideals echo through Rashmirathi Parv
LUCKNOW, April 26 -- The second day of the three-day Rashmirathi Parv at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan witnessed a vibrant celebration of the life and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda, drawing large participation from youth, literature enthusiasts and intellectuals.
The venue reverberated with patriotic slogans as the day's proceedings began with a theatrical performance inspired by Vivekananda's iconic message: "Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached."
The 90-minute play depicted key moments from his life, including his struggles, spiritual journey and the historic address at the Parliament of the World's Religions, 1893. The performance received an enthusiastic response from the audience, many of whom were visibly moved.
A panel discussion on 'Vivekananda's Contribution to Cultural Nation Building' emerged as the highlight of the day. Speakers underscored how Vivekananda projected India's spiritual heritage on the global stage and instilled a sense of pride, self-confidence and national service among the youth-values which remain relevant in contemporary times.
The event also saw the release of a book titled 'Pani Panchayat' in the presence of deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. Emphasising the importance of water conservation and ecological balance, Maurya said Vivekananda's teachings continue to inspire collective responsibility and positive action.
Among those present were state agriculture minister Surya Pratap Shahi, legislative council member Mahendra Singh, former legislator Siddharth Shankar, BJP leader Neeraj Singh, Rajendra Singh and city unit president Anand Dwivedi, along with several others.
The cultural evening concluded on an emotive note, with performances that celebrated India's spiritual and cultural ethos, reinforcing Vivekananda's enduring message for the younger generation....
