Lakhimpur Kheri, June 5 -- A 46-year-old man, Khushi Ram of Surjipurwa village under Majhgain police station limits, died after being attacked by an alligator near Sutiya nullah in Ballipur village on Thursday. According to reports, Khushi Ram had gone to the nullah when the reptile emerged from the water and attacked him. Hearing his cries, villagers rushed to the spot and drove the alligator away. He suffered severe bite injuries to his hands, back and abdomen. Khushi Ram was taken to Nighasan Community Health Centre and later referred to the district hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
