LUCKNOW, June 21 -- A parliamentary forum on 'Viksit Bharat 2047' was organised at the House of Lords on Saturday. The meet brought together British parliamentarians, diplomats, judges, business leaders and the Indian diaspora to align UK interests with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India by 2047. Organised by the NRI Association of UK with international secretary DK Tyagi, the event focused on trade, innovation and cultural ties. Lord Graham Brady of Altrincham, the chief guest, said India's rise toward its 2047 goals opens unparalleled opportunities for mutual trade and innovation. He added that India's cultural values provide a steady foundation for economic expansion. Lord Rami Ranger called the British-Indian community a vital living bridge that converts bilateral intent into global success. Speakers expressed confidence that India could achieve developed-nation status before 2047, with the upcoming UK-India FTA seen as a key driver. A highlight was the dedication of 'Expressions of Divinity: Mahakumbh 2025' by principal commissioner of Income Tax, Meenakshi Singh, published by Bloomsbury. Singh said the Mahakumbh's logistics and spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam mirror India's modern digital infrastructure. Lord Brady also announced Queen Elizabeth's School, Gurugram, is set to open in August 2026 in partnership with GEDU Global Education.
