Varuna flood affects 1,388 people in Vns
VARANASI, Sept. 2 -- Flooding of the Varuna has affected 1,388 people from 328 families in Varanasi district, with 935 people from 219 families shifted to 13 relief camps.
The remaining affected residents are being moved to safer locations.
The Varuna has swollen due to reverse flow from the Ganga, which was flowing at 70.29 metres on Tuesday, above the warning level of 70.26 metres but below
the danger level of 71.26 metres. Around 11 neighbourhoods have been partially affected. Relief camps are providing food, drinking water, bedding, sanitation and medical care, while ration kits are being distributed to affected families. htc...
