LUCKNOW, June 1 -- The state government on Sunday appointed new chief medical officers (CMOs) in several districts, including Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Sonbhadra. Dr Mukesh Kumar has been made CMO Varanasi. He was working as nagar swasthya adhikari in Aligarh. Dr Sachin Vaish, who was working as joint director headquarters at the health directorate, has been made the new CMO of Ghaziabad. Dr GP Gupta has been given charge as director and chief medical superintendent of the Civil Hospital in Lucknow and additional charge of additional director (Lucknow) division. Dr Sudesh Kumari has got charge of director maternal and child welfare while Dr Renu Chaudhary has been made director paramedical at the health directorate and Dr Rakesh Sharma, director, community health centres. Dr Abhay Narain has been made the CMO of Ballia, Dr Sukhranjan Samaddar becomes CMO of Sitapur, Dr Ajay Kumar Sharma of Unnao, Dr Gangaram Gautam of Jaunpur, Dr Ranjan Gautam of Barabanki, Dr Harinandan Prasad of Jalaun, Dr Ramesh Mishra of Sonbhadra, Dr Alka Shukla of Hamirpur, Dr Udaybhan of Fatehpur, Dr Bhuwan Chand Pant of Pilibhit and Dr Vikas Chandra has been made the CMO of Kannauj.
