UU celebrates academic excellence at 3rd convocation
PRAYAGRAJ, March 1 -- United University (UU) celebrated academic excellence at its third convocation ceremony held on campus on Friday. Chief guest P Dwarkanath, former chairman of GSK-CX, underscored the importance of individuals in driving meaningful change. He urged graduates to remain relevant and adaptable to evolving circumstances at every stage of life.
Guest of honour KP Mahadevaswamy, chairman-cum-managing director of NBCC (India), congratulated the graduating students and noted that true leadership lies in taking initiative and guiding others. In recognition of his distinguished contributions, he was conferred the honourary degree of Doctor of Science by the university.
The ceremony commenced with a traditional academic procession, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Chancellor Giridhar Gopal Gulati formally declared the convocation open, while pro-chancellor Jagdish Gulati welcomed the dignitaries. Vice-chancellor Prof AM Agarwal presented the university's annual academic report, outlining key achievements and milestones.
Nearly 900 students received degrees across disciplines, including six PhD scholars, 151 Master's graduates, 664 Bachelor's graduates, and 49 diploma recipients. Academic distinction was marked by the award of seven gold medals, seven silver medals, and 21 merit certificates....
