LUCKNOW, Aug. 31 -- Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday underlined the growing importance of drone technology in modern warfare, citing the Russia-Ukraine conflict, according to a press statement issued by the state government. "Drones are now a crucial part of defence policy, and India is designing and manufacturing them domestically," he said after inaugurating an aero engine test facility in Gautam Buddh Nagar. "The youth here are playing a pivotal role in the creation of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. Drones made in India will not be detectable by any systems developed in the US or China. The country's innovation and indigenous designs are advancing to new heights," he said. Recalling Operation Sindoor, he said: "When commitment, courage, and science come together, the impossible becomes possible. In just 22 minutes, our forces eliminated the enemy. This was not only the bravery of our armed forces but also a story of Atmanirbhar India and the innovation of our scientists and youth."
