Urban dev ministerlaunches Rs.83.24-crore water supply scheme
Jhansi, July 25 -- Urban development and energy minister AK Sharma on Friday inaugurated the Rs 83.24-crore Gursarai-Garautha combined drinking water project in Jhansi district, a scheme that will provide piped potable water to around 7,740 households.
The project has been designed to cater to residents of Gursarai Nagar Palika Parishad and Garautha Nagar Panchayat through an upgraded water treatment and distribution system.
Sharma said the initiative would directly impact public health and improve the living standards of thousands of families in the region.
The minister said the state government is undertaking extensive development works across Bundelkhand, focusing strongly on water supply, power infrastructure and industrial growth. He noted that several solar power projects are nearing completion and expected to strengthen electricity availability while positioning the region as an important centre for renewable energy. htc...
