Lucknow, Aug. 27 -- The Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission (UPESSC), Prayagraj, declared results of the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET 2026) on Wednesday. Prashant Kumar, UPESSC chairman, stated that the UPTET 2026 written examination was conducted in two shifts each on July 2 and 3 and one shift on July 4, 2026, at 955 examination centres in 60 districts across the state. In all, there were five shifts - three for the upper primary level and two for the primary level. Kumar said that the commission conducted this massive examination involving over 19 lakh candidates with complete fairness, transparency, and security. He stated that the results were prepared following the comparative evaluation process previously prescribed in the advertisement. Owing to the large number of registered candidates (19,94,661), the examination was conducted in five shifts over three days. Of the 7,13,648 candidates who appeared for the primary level examination (classes 1 to 5), 80.07%, or 5,71,435, were successful. Of the total 10,57,021 candidates who appeared for the examination for the upper primary level (Classes 6 to 8), 71.85% or 759,513, were declared successful. Among the working teachers, 76.29% or 93,387, of the total 1,22,405 working teachers at the primary level, and 77.45% or 113,384 of the total 1,46,394 working teachers at the upper primary level, were declared successful.
