UPSRTC restructures enforcement squads to cut fuel cost
LUCKNOW, May 18 -- The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has ordered a major restructuring of its enforcement squads to reduce fuel expenditure and improve the effectiveness of checking operations.
Managing director Prabhu N Singh on Sunday directed that only one enforcement team would function in each region, while additional personnel attached to squads will return to their original duties with immediate effect.
The MD also made body-worn cameras mandatory for inspection activities, stating that inspections conducted without them would not be considered valid. Only one driver will be deployed with each squad, and regional managers have been made personally responsible for ensuring that only personnel with a good record and discipline are posted in enforcement teams.
