LUCKNOW, June 21 -- Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) managing director Mayur Maheshwari conducted a comprehensive review of the Obra Thermal Power Project during a high-level inspection visit on June 18, emphasising the need for optimum power generation, strict safety compliance and improved operational efficiency. Accompanied by senior directors and chief engineers of the corporation, Maheshwari inspected workers' facilitation centres, control rooms and other key installations of the thermal power station before holding a detailed review meeting with project officials. During the meeting, discussions focused on generation performance, equipment maintenance, workplace safety, human resource management, cleanliness and future operational plans. Addressing officers and employees, the managing director described the Obra project as a key contributor to Uttar Pradesh's energy needs and urged staff to work with discipline, teamwork and dedication to maximise generation. He also stressed the importance of adhering to safety standards, ensuring timely equipment maintenance, efficient resource use, and fostering an innovation-driven work culture. Officials said the visit provided an opportunity to assess the plant's performance and identify areas for further improvement.
