UPPCL warns ofdisconnection on -ve balance
Lucknow, March 8 -- The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has started sending alert messages to consumers using prepaid smart meters, warning them to maintain adequate balance to avoid power disconnection.
About 7.6 million (76 lakh) smart meters have been installed across the state, including 6.988 million (69.88 lakh) prepaid meters.
"Electricity supply may be automatically disconnected if the balance turns negative. Consumers have been urged to recharge their meters in advance through the UPPCL website, mobile app, CSC centres or digital payment platforms, a UPPCL spokesman said.
