LUCKNOW, June 5 -- Uttar Pradesh is set to significantly upgrade the operational capabilities of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) through the establishment of an Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) that will digitally connect all PAC battalions across the state, chief minister Yogi Adityanath said on Thursday. Reviewing the modernization and future expansion plans of the PAC, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (UPSSF), the chief minister emphasised the need to leverage advanced technology to strengthen the state's security architecture and improve operational efficiency. Officials presented a detailed blueprint of the proposed ICCC, which is envisioned as the nerve centre of PAC operations. The project aims to create a unified digital network linking all battalions and field units, enabling real-time monitoring, communication and deployment management across Uttar Pradesh. According to officials, the ICCC will incorporate GPS-based vehicle tracking, drone and artificial intelligence-enabled surveillance systems, secure communication channels and a live command-and-control platform. The integrated system is expected to enhance coordination during law-and-order situations, election duties, women's safety operations and disaster-response missions. The chief minister said information technology must be utilized to its fullest extent in modern policing and security management. He stressed that technology-driven systems would improve situational awareness and enable quicker decision-making during emergencies. As part of the modernization drive, all PAC vehicles are being equipped with GPS devices and dashboard cameras, while a dedicated quick-response vehicle system is also being developed. The integrated digital network will allow commanders to monitor personnel and resources more effectively and coordinate deployments in real time. Adityanath said the PAC, one of the state's principal security forces, must be prepared for emerging challenges through technological upgradation, improved training and stronger infrastructure. He also directed officials to ensure timely implementation of all modernization projects and called for training programmes that equip personnel to effectively use new technologies. The chief minister reviewed other initiatives, including the expansion of women's PAC battalions, strengthening disaster-response capabilities and infrastructure development. However, the proposed ICCC emerged as the centrepiece of the state's efforts to transform the PAC into a modern, technology-enabled force capable of responding swiftly to security and emergency situations across Uttar Pradesh....
