LUCKNOW, Nov. 9 -- Similar to the Lucknow Metro prepaid card that offers passengers a 10% discount on every trip, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the directorate of urban transport and the State Bank of India for the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), which will allow passengers to buy tickets at a 10% discounted rate. The NCMC Open Loop Card will be launched soon, allowing citizens to purchase tickets for city buses and the metro. It can also be used at any POS terminal. Passengers will receive a 10% discount when buying city bus tickets using the NCMC card. It was decided in the review meeting chaired by Mahendra Bahadur Singh, director, directorate of urban transport, with the managing directors and chief executive officers of City Transport Services Ltd (SPVs) operating in 15 cities across the state, including Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Meerut, Agra, Mathura-Vrindavan, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Moradabad, Aligarh, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Ghaziabad, Ayodhya, and Jhansi. Passengers using urban transport for their daily commute will soon be able to know the exact arrival time of buses at their stops.
