UP to brace for 6-8degC jump in temp this week, says Met office
Lucknow, May 11 -- The Lucknow meteorological centre has predicted a significant rise in temperature of 6 to 8degC across Uttar Pradesh (UP) this week after a spell of rain and below normal temperatures.
"With the influence of the western disturbance having subsided and the absence of any active weather systems, the weather across the state is expected to remain predominantly dry for the next two days. Subsequently-and despite the possibility of light rainfall in the northern parts of the state-a significant rise in temperature of 6-8degC is anticipated this week," said Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist at the Lucknow met office.
On Sunday, maximum temperatures in major meteorological stations remained below 40degC. Prayagraj was the hottest city in the state, recording 39.6degC, followed by Jhansi at 39.4degC and Banda at 39.2degC....
