Lucknow, Aug. 15 -- The Uttar Pradesh STF and Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) arrested three alleged drug smugglers and seized narcotics worth an estimated Rs.1.45 crore in two separate operations in Barabanki and Mirzapur, officials said on Friday. In Barabanki, the STF arrested Vikas Kumar, a resident of Masodha in Ayodhya, and Sikandar Ali, of Rounahi in Ayodhya, and recovered 260 kg of ganja, valued at around Rs.65 lakh. The arrests were made on Thursday evening on the Haidergarh-Bachhrawan road near the China Mill canal police post. In the second operation, the ANTF's Ghazipur unit arrested Anil Kumar Sonkar, a resident of Rampur Taiti under Madihan police station in Mirzapur, and recovered 390 gm of heroin valued at around Rs.80 lakh.
