UP set to launch work on 3 new e-way link corridors
LUCKNOW, July 8 -- The state government is set to launch work on three new expressway link corridors (spurs)-the Meerut-Haridwar Link Expressway, the Vindhya Expressway, and the Vindhya-Purvanchal Link Expressway. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath recently reviewed the progress of the proposed expressway projects.
The 150-km Meerut-Haridwar Link Expressway will require acquisition of about 2,000 hectares of land across 185 villages. UPEIDA has prepared the land acquisition plan and sent it to the district magistrates of Amroha, Bijnor and Haridwar for verification. The corridor will connect with the Ganga Expressway near Amroha.
"Regular monitoring of the project is being done at state level. The process of land acquisition will pave the way for starting construction work," said Manoj Singh, CEO State Transformation Commission (STC), who presented the progress report to the CM.
The 320-km Vindhya Expressway will require around 4,600 hectares of land from 341 villages across Prayagraj, Bhadohi, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts. The corridor will connect the Ganga Expressway at Prayagraj before extending to Sonbhadra. The 139-km Vindhya-Purvanchal Link Expressway will pass through Chandauli, Ghazipur and Mirzapur districts, requiring about 2,800 hectares of land from 135 villages. The total land acquisition cost for the project is estimated at Rs.11,700 crore....
