UP launches Digital Labour Chowk app
Lucknow, June 14 -- In a move to promote employment and digital good governance while empowering workers, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched the "Digital Labour Chowk" (DLC) mobile application. The platform was dedicated to the public by the department of labour and employment on June 12, coinciding with the World Day Against Child Labour.
Developed by the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (UPBOCW), the digital platform serves as a centralised hub to connect workers and employers. According to an official release, the initiative aims to boost employment opportunities by creating a more organised and accessible labour market.
The Digital Labour Chowk platform allows workers to register and create profiles using their mobile numbers. Users can input specific details, including their trade, skills, work experience and preferred work locations....
